Letter of Resignation

A resignation letter marks the beginning of your transition journey with our company. Before taking any further steps, it's essential that all Faculty Employees preparing to resign submit this crucial document and engage in a discussion with their respective managers. Our objective is to facilitate a clear and seamless transition for both the departing employee and the team, ensuring that the process is amicable and well-coordinated for all parties involved.

Key Points

South Korea, as well as in many other jurisdictions, a letter of resignation is an important part of the process when an employee decides to leave their job. There are several reasons for this:

  1. Documentation: The letter serves as an official document that records the intent and the date of the employee's resignation. This can be important for legal and HR records. It helps to avoid any potential misunderstandings or disputes about when the employee intended to leave.

  2. Notice period: In many cases, employment contracts or labor laws require the employee to give a certain period of notice before leaving their job. The resignation letter can serve as the starting point for this notice period.

  3. Professionalism: Submitting a resignation letter is considered a professional courtesy. It allows the employer to start planning for the transition, whether that's hiring a replacement, redistributing tasks among the remaining staff, or making other necessary arrangements.

  4. Clarity: The letter can provide an opportunity for the employee to explain their reasons for leaving if they choose to do so. This can provide valuable feedback to the employer and contribute to a more amicable parting.
